This story is going to sound a lot like the one that lady made her daughter write about her fake husband in Iraq to get free Hannah Montana tickets but I assure you it is true.

Earlier this year, I was sitting on the couch with my headphones on watching the Office. My dad was watching TV in the same room but he was watching baseball. I overheard a noise through the sounds of my computer in my headphones. It sounded like someone repeating the word “uhhhhhhhhhhh” very loudly over and over again. I look towards my dad and saw that he was non responsive and making these noises. Long story short, my father was having a heart failure due to Arithmia, basically a heart attack. I called 911 and watched my father stop breathing. His heart stopped. The EMS arrived and defibrilated him three times. I then went to the hospital and arrived back home at around midnight. My dad had about a 5% chance of surviving, let alone without any brain damage. This was the worst night of my life. I got into my bed and as strange as it sounds decided to listen to the /filmcast. I don’t remember what episode it was or what was talked about but I do remember that I listened. This was a comforting moment in the middle of such a shit storm of a day.

After being unconcious for 3 days, my father woke up. He was not talking and basically could just look at us. Over the next 10 days, he began squeezing our hands, following simple commands, and finally talking. My father is alive and well to this day after a quadrouple bypass surgery. I just wanted to let you know that I turned to your show in a time of great fear. I will listen to it as long as you guys are making it. Thanks and may this first year be the first of many.
